On the 12th day of Christmas Danita gave...

So this is the end! I had so much fun with this swap and I'm sad is ending now. The good news is that now my tree is complete and is my turn now to show you what I did:

My ornaments were little wood blocks with paper clay arms and fabric printed faces. They also have a little bell in the bottom and colorful vintage style garland as a scarf.

This was the tree in my studio after I finished them and before packing them. I hope the participants liked them :) I love everything I got!

To celebrate all the ornaments I got, I'm having a sale on my Etsy store!

Beginning Saturday Dec. 13th, I'm having my biggest sale ever!! Here's the details:

  • Free USPS domestic shipping on jewelry and accessories.
What do you think? Like that? I hope so. Now, I'm going to make some new stuff and I'll show you later. Have a great weekend!

In the 11th day of Christmas Cindy gave to me...

It's the 11th day already!!! I wish there were the 24 days of Christmas... or maybe the 31 days? That would be great, 31 ornaments to open ;)

This time I received my last ornament. I say my last because tomorrow is my turn and the end of this swap :( The number 11 was Cindy Forrester, and she send me this:

It was round and heavy... what could it be? An ornament of course! A traditional ornament turned into a beautiful, one of a kind one. I think it's covered with paper and beeswax. And it has all those rusty things hanging I just love it. I've loved this swap since the first day and I can't wait to do it again. Thanks a lot Cindy!!!

Tomorrow I'll show you what I did. I got to keep one for myself :)

On the 10th day of Christmas Ruth gave to me...

This is almost over!! I'm so sad. I kind of like the idea of open a daily gift :P

On the 10th day of Christmas Ruth Rae gave to me:

An angel dress!!! Just what I needed!! My wings are a little bit used and new ones always come handy :) It is beautiful and have lots of work. If you want to see Ruth's whole process of making them you can visit her blog here and check it out!

Thank you Ruth!!! I love my new dress!

In the 9th day of Christmas Pilar gave to me...

Is it the 9th already?!!?!? I remember when I was a kid, the days before Christmas were the LONGEST.. .and now they're flying.. I think it's because I don't expect Santa anymore... now I'm Santa!

Ok where was I? Oh yes, In the 9th day of Christmas Pilar Pollock gave to meeeee:

A pillow ornament!!! This is beautiful. It has a print in one side and her name in the back. And it has a little hanging star that says "Joy". I like it. I need Joy. We need Joy. Thanks a lot Pilar!!!

And speaking of joy. I'm happy today. When I woke up this morning there was snow covering the Franklin Mountains :) I'd love to watch the falling snow... I'm crossing my fingers it snows here too!!

Oh and I have some new prints on my shop now. They're from new paintings that I just did and they will be available soon. I'm in love with this set. I just can't make my mind if my favorite is the Photographer or the Tree Hugger... Just click on them to see them better and read about them (and also to get one!).

On the 8th day of Christmas Deryn gave to me...

Today is Deryn Mentock's turn. You probably already know her, she makes the most amazing jewelry and it's constantly featured in the Stampington magazines.

Well, I couldn't wait to open this one.... I actually opened so fast that I forgot to take pictures of the process! But here it is, my very own snowman ornament/pendant!!

The body is a tiny glass bottle full of even tinier things. And she even sent a ball chain so I can wear it whenever I want :) Thank you Deryn, I love it!

And in my side, I've been busy too... not just opening ornaments and enjoying the Holidays, but working as well. I just added 3 new round faces to my shop. (A Frida included). Click on each face and It will take you there :)

Oh and my daughter is helping me redecorate the house.... She must've thought that the pillows were too plain because she painted stripes on them... and when I asked WHO DID THAT?!?!?! She proudly say "I DID!"... after that I just decided that I will leave it like that... I'm even thinking about giving her the others so she can spice them up a little :P

On the 5, 6 and 7 days of Christmas....

Oh my.. I'm so late!!! Where do the days go? I've just realized I haven't posted my ornaments in 3 days!!!.... Here I go!

On the 5 day of Christmas Kelly Snelling gave to me... A mermaid!!! Oh I'm so lucky... I now have this handmade doll made by this great artist just for me to display the whole year! And she packed it in a very clever way, with paper and fabric sewn together... thanks a lot Kelly!!

On the 6th day of Christmas Joanna Pierroti gave to me... the most beautiful nativity set ever!!!

I loved this one just before I opened it. It was so beautiful already. But when I opened I just went speechless. This one you have to see it in person to really appreciate it. It has so many details I wouldn't finish describing it ever.

The nativity set is inside and you can hang it closed or open (I prefer it open!).. both ways would look great. Thanks so much Joanna! I love it!

And on the 7 day of Christmas Jackie Allison gave to me:
A beautiful package with a bingo card and a big red bow.

And guess what was inside?

An altered doll!!! Oh I'm telling you, this swap was totally worth it!!!

This also has lots of tiny details and a beautiful bisque doll head, with wings and everything... another treasure!!! So bad she doesn't have a blog :( But thanks a lot Jackie!! It is so beautiful!

I promise I'll share with you everyday the rest of the ornaments. I'm number 12 so I'm the last... until then I can show you mine :)

More dolls

The sets fly from the shop! Thank you so much!!! But don't worry, there are still more dolls on the shop :)

In the fourth day of Christmas Lorraine gave to me...

Time to open another ornament!!!

This one was one of the most intriguing because it was wrapped as a present, but so tiny and heavy it made me wonder what it was the whole time.

It was a real surprise when I opened. I'm in love with this one. Polka dots? You got me!

And look at the details, it has the words HOPE stamped in the copper.

Thank you so much Lorraine, this is a mini work of art!

In the third day of Christmas not only received an ornament!

In my third day of Christmas Lou sent to me another beautiful ornament!! Oh this is getting better and better... but that's not all!

I also received the wonderful news that the new Design this design that magazine the toys issue is out!! And why am I so excited? Because I'm there. I was contacted by Ariadna a couple of months ago asking me if I want to participate and I happily say yes! You can see my interview and pictures of my dolls here. Just scroll to page 202 or if you have time feel free to browse the entire magazine. There are lots of great doll designers and it would be worth taking the time to scroll through the whole magazine :)

Oh and talking about dolls... I have some new ones!!! This time they are a little bit different and come in groups... the first one is one of my all time favorites, Little Red Riding Hood, but not alone as the last time, but with her very own wolf who is very well dressed with her red bow to match her cloak.

And, are Alice in Wonderland fans ready? Because the whole gang is here!!

Aren't they wonderful? I've always wanted to make them but they are a lot of work and I ended up postponing it, until now. And they're soooo cute! I want them for Christmas!

Sold, thanks a lot!

But if you like the package let me show you was was inside:

Don't you love it? It's a cute mini canvas embellished with German glass glitter and a cute little bird. It looks perfect on my tree! Thanks a lot Maija!

And yep, I have to start taking the pics of my ornaments in the morning... the pics are making those ornaments justice! Let's try that with tomorrow's package!

In the first day of Christmas...

I was invited by the great Deryn Mentock (Something sublime) to participate in this year's The 12 days of Christmas swap!! The participants are such a talented group of artists and I'm so happy to be part of it. We exchanged ornaments. Mine is number 12 so I can't share my images with you yet, but I will! You can read more about this swap here and here.

Day by day the beautiful packages arrived and I had to fight with myself (and my daughter) to keep them wrapped. But the day arrived and now I can open them! Well, just one per day :P

Here you can see them all together, waiting for me to open them and share them with you.

So in the first day of Christmas Melissa David gave to me: (she, sadly, doesn't have a blog but she makes beautiful things!)

We look at it and it was so beautifully wrapped that I hesistate a bit.. should I open it or not?

My daughter decided we should! So we opened it!

And here it is! A beautiful metal star that is now hanging in my Christmas tree :)

Thanks so much Melissa for your beautiful work! I'm happy to be one of the lucky recipients!!
