Yes, Is True... I'm Nacho, The Luchador..... I Mean, Is True, I'm On The Cover Of Somerset Studio Magazine!!!

I'm sooooo excited today!!! I wanted to share this good news with a while ago but I preferred to keep it a secret until I saw it.... and yesterday, I did!!!! (Keep reading, mom!)

Several months ago, I was interviewed by Rice Freeman-Zachery for the Artist Portfolio of Somerset Studio Magazine. I couldn't believe it at first. It was like a dream come true!!! I've always admired a lot the artists they feature and I never thought I was going to be one of them! I was so excited knowing that my name would be on the cover! I didn't even hoped that my art would be on the cover, because I've seen that usually what is on the portfolio is not what is on the cover. But imagine my surprise when Jenny Doh contacted me and told me that I was on the cover too!!!!!!! I almost fainted!!!!! And it was a real surprise when I received my issue. I hadn't seen a preview... I didn't even knew what piece they had chosen... and when I opened my bag and removed the white paper that is on front what did I see?... Not one, but TWO of my Fridas in there!!!!!!!! (Am I using a lot of exclamation signs? It is because I'm so excited!!!!!!!!).

This is my first cover and I'm very grateful for it. 8 pages with my work in one of my favorite magazines is more than I could have asked for. Thanks so much Jenny and Rice and all you work in the magazine. It's been great working with you!!!

Oh and for the ones asking, the 2 Fridas in the cover are already sold, but there will be others in the update. Prints are already available :)

Etsy shop update... More original Art this coming Sunday!

I've been working on several original pieces, some new dolls, my first batch of boxes for 2009 and brand new jewelry with new images. I know you must envy Kelly because she won the chocolate and the tin and you didn't. But I'm a good girl and I have something for you too (And for you, and for you too).

From time to time... or better said, in my free time (that is not much), I like to play with Photoshop and my Wacom tablet. Today was one of those days and I make something for you :) It's a free desktop wallpaper! Is my first one and I hope you like it. To download it just click on the image, it will open a big one. Right click on that one and then select "Set image as wallpaper" or "Set as a desktop background" (or something like that hehe). And you're done! It may not be edible but it sure will brighten your day :)

And I found something WONDERFUL today! We went grocery shopping... (Yaaay!.. I Mean Yaaaaaawn) and suddenly I just had to stop. In the Chocolate section there was a series of art tins from "Chocolate Mi Abuelita" (Granny's Chocolate) with beautiful reproductions from latin american artists. If you come across them, get them. They are so beautiful I had to have them all, and the best part is that they are filled with rich, dark chocolate... YUM! Now I don't know what's best... the outside or the inside!
