First day of school!!!

Today was the first day of school for my girl.... and I feel so weird!! I have these mixed feelings because I'm so happy she is taking a big step towards independence going to school but I'm also sooo sad because she's not my baby anymore :( I think the ones who have been through this can understand how I feel. It's so hard to explain...

In other news, I'm updating my shop with lots of new things, including little boxes with original paintings, jewelry, magnets and more!

Nothing like a good studio cleaning to get the creative juices flowing again...

Too bad is too late to start painting...

The costume party

I'm here again! It's incredible how quickly the days pass and suddenly I realize that I haven't posted a thing in a week!

But here I am... and I have pics. I was dying to go as the Red Queen or as a Frida... but my daughter won and I ended up being the White Rabbit. She wanted me to scream "I'm late, I'm late!" all over the place while she followed me everywhere... we even made a hole out of black felt to fall into....

Even Buzz, my daughter's loved plush dog got a costume, he was the Butterfly that the caterpillar turns into.


Here's another pic of me with my cousin (who organized the party and was dressed up as Cinderella). My costume was pretty simple but got a lot of nice comments :) I already had the ears and the bunny tail from a past Halloween, the vest is made of felt with a detachable clock that was made of felt too, the scarf is a piece of lace and my pants are actually my PJ's tucked inside my socks ;)

I Spent most of the time there making cupcakes and helping with the preparations of the party. Everybody had a great time, specially little Alice who spent the whole afternoon playing and jumping and eating frosting.

What do you think? I think we look very cute! Specially considering the low budget and the short time ;)

It's giveaway time! It's been a while since my last one and you deserve it! You're always too good to me :)

Here's the catch... I have to attend a costume party on the 22 (a week from now) and we decided to dress as the Alice in Wonderland characters (I wanted to be Frida but my daughter insists in Alice)... My daughter goes as Alice (she has the cutest dress!)... my husband as the Mad Hatter... and I don't have idea who to be!!!! So, I'm giving one print of this new collage (for sale soon) to one person. To participate you have to leave me a comment with a link to a Hat tutorial (to complete the Mad Hatter's costume) or a cheap and cool idea for me to dress for the party (remember I live in the desert and it's the middle of august). I'll pick a random winner this Monday!

500 days of summer.. and stickers!

I know, I know I promised to show you what else I made with the little drawings today but I had the chance to go to the movies to watch "500 days of summer" and I'm soooooo in love with that movie that I almost went to sleep without showing you!
So... ta da!!! Here they are, cute little stickers!!! Who doesn't love stickers? I surely do!

I made two different kinds, clear and white. I love both! They look super cute everywhere you decide to paste them... just look at the examples ;)


And you can cut them in any way you like... just one, two or severa together...

I just made a few and they are available at my shop ... now off to bed, to keep thinking about the movie! (By the way, click on the poster in the first picture and you can get a sneak peek of other things I'm working on this days).

Shrinky dinks and other things

I decided what to do with all the little illustrations that I have been doing this days... I made little phone charms! They're so cute and so tiny!!! They're available now at my shop.

They look great hanging from cell phones, backpacks, laptops, iPhones... And you can make them little pendants if you put them on a chain or bracelet too! I'll tell you what else I made tomorrow... I hope you had a great weekend!

Commissioned piece finished and some other pics

Happy beginning of the week! I can't believe is Monday again... time flies lately! I've been busy with a very special piece commissioned by one of my customers. She lost her dear cat, Mr. Bacon and she wanted a piece to remember him... and she chose the 2 Fridas. They were a lot of work but they're finally done and I'm so proud of them. I hope they help her remember her beautiful kitty :)


We also went to Carlsbad Caverns ... I tried to take pics but there's almost no light there and with my little camera this is the only thing that came out :P






They are just beautiful, is stunning what nature does and the people there has done a great job preserving them and letting us enjoy those wonders....
