Alice in Wonderland... to antique or not to antique?

I'm almost done with these pieces... but I'm in the middle of a predicament: should I add the vintage wash or should I leave them like that? I just can't decide!

They look so beautiful with the vibrant colors that I'm afraid to ruin them If I add the antiquing patina... at the same time I'm thinking it will make them more dreamy and mysterious...

Could you help me decide? What do you think?

My pendants in Stringing Magazine

A while ago I received a message from one of the editors of Stringing Magazine asking me for my fox pendant. She was searching for unique Woodland beads and found me on Etsy.

Yesterday, I received a copy of the magazine and a sweet note!

Frida in Bloom

It's snowed yesterday... but I'm thinking about spring already.

What does Crescendoh, Frida Kahlo and I have in common?

I'm pretty sure than by now almost everybody has hear about Crescendoh, the new online community that is about to "open" on March 1st. Well, I'm been working with Jenny in some projects for the site and I can't be more excited and happy with the results.

The first one is a bag with one of my Fridas on it. It's so beautiful! Everything is better explained and show in this video:




The other surprise is... (drumroll please).... Rubber stamps! My first set ever!
And not just any rubber stamps, they're clear ones, so you can actually see where you're putting it. I'm over the moon for these cuties. This set includes a flying Frida, Frida with black bird, Viva la Vida Frida, flower, heart, skull, brush and a tear (this one was a must!).


I'm already planning all the things that I'll do with them! They'll be available soon but you can see some examples of these stamps made by Jenny Doh here, stay tuned for the release!

Rice and me at Barnes and Noble

Yesterday was so much fun!
I got to meet Rice Freeman-Zachery at her book signing in El Paso.

We chat, we took pictures and time went flying. I wish I had more time with her. She knows so many artists and so many interesting things that I just wanted to keep talking to her and ask her to keep telling me stories.

Here's with her husband who is also her photographer. He's very charming too. Don't they make a wonderful couple? I love the way they dress!

If y0u haven't checked out her book don't miss the chance! It's filled with great tips and information about organizing your time and space to create that come directly from working artists. Very down to earth. Totally worth it!

Fuji Instax...

I finally got myself a Fujifilm Instax... I've been wanting one for I don't know how long and I decided to treat myself with one. I was love at first sight...

No matter how much I enjoy my digital camera and photoshop and my printer. The easily editable images, the portability... nothing compares to this. A unique, physical photo on your hand that is real. You can touch it, you can pass it to others to see it. You don't have to print, it just is.


Is it that you only got one chance at taking the picture? Or the instant gratification of getting the picture right at your hands when you take it? Is it the excitement of the surprise that it's awaiting for you when it reveals itself? It may just be the nostalgia of my childhood. Whatever the reason, It makes me smile. Every time. Better than chocolate.

The DaVinci Experience

This weekend we went to the Museum. They have an exhibition of some of DaVinci's work (many of them interactive). Everything is so beautiful, all made in wood...

I like the fact that you could touch things... it's better that way than just watching, don't you think?

Little paper doll for you

I've noticed that I ask so much for you all the time. To comment on my work, to support me with my art. To buy my pieces. But I don't give much in return... so I spend my morning making this little Valentine's doll for you :)

I'm just starting my week as we had a long weekend (no school yesterday!) and I wanted to share with you some new work and some not so new, but just getting back from Somerset.

These are the 2 encaustic collages that are in the Current issue of Sew Somerset and are now ready to go to a new home.
