Getting ready for my Sister's Wedding....
This weekend is my little sister's wedding! I'm so excited about it (Even though I'm sick with the flu and I'll have to travel 4 hours and I'm retaining water like a sponge). But looking at her in her wedding dress, happy to join her life with the life of the man she loves will be priceless.
Of course I've been helping her with the handmade details of the party!!! She laughs at me that I want everything handmade...She says that no matter what she chooses I'm going to be there saying that it's nice but it would be better if it was handmade... but isn't handmade just better? At least for me it is! And I think I convinced because many of her thing were made by her artist sister (that would be me!).
First the invitations. I made them a custom portrait and use the image as focal point.
The main text was covered with a page from a vintage book, tied with a pretty silk ribbon (some in orange, the favorite of the groom and some in turquoise, the favorite of the bride) and from it the cards for the party are hanging.
Here's the view of the full invitation. I'm very proud of them, can you tell?
So far everybody is loving them.
But that's not all. I also made the wedding cake topper and the boxes for the rings and the coins.
I'm so dying to see everything put together!
Here's the close-up at the kokeshis. They're dressed just as they're in the painting. The only change was the groom's bow tie, it looked kind of sad in brown.
Anyway, I'll be posting more pics soon of everthing from the wedding. This have been so much fun I'm thinking I may offer custom wedding stuff later. In the meanwhile, I'm off to prepare my luggage!
Have a great weekend!

We just celebrated my niece's wedding on saturday. I made the invitations, cake topper on box cake for cards, decorations for the wedding, and magnetized & personalized magnetic paper dolls, and personalized wedding topper ornament. When it's in your blood, it's what you do!
Just fabulous! Your sister is so lucky.:)
Your sister must be thrilled. Only wish you were feeling better for the event. :(
Maybe all of the compliments you're going to get will cure you. :)
