Celebrating Freedom and Making New Work...

This weekend was great! I finally could enjoy my recently lost freedom of movement and we went to an event called "Art in the park" that is hosted every month with a different theme. This time, it was one of my favorites: "The Beatlemania"!!!! With the group "Help" which characterize the group very well and let you enjoy the music live.

That, combined with the recent rain put me in a creative mood and I painted 2 new works.
The first one, a tribute to The Beatles:

Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds
A 6x12 mixed media painting on wood.

And the second one, an Alice in Wonderland piece. (A 6x8 mixed media painting on canvas)

What does it have to do with the Beatles? Well, I was about to paint "I'm the Walrus" which is inspired by the book and this Alice appeared out of nowhere... so here she is! "I'm the Walrus" is still on the works.

Both of them are available at my Shop.

I hope it keeps raining!

Guess what?

This is in the outside...

And this is in the inside!

We just got back from the Doctor's appointment and guess what?

I knew it, I knew it!
We're so happy because he seems to be healthy and complete... no extra parts and nothing is missing :P See? 5 fingers!

And I'm allowed to do more stuff now... no more house arrest for me! It won't be like before, but at least I can roam around and take short walks.

Wohoooo!!! What a happy day!

Will I find out?

Today I felt like doing something different for a change... and I used my forgotten watercolors to paint 3 little girls with colorful hair. Their names are Pinky, Violet and Blue and they're looking for a new home here.

Tomorrow I have an appointment for an ultrasound... and maybe I'll find out the sex of the baby!!! I think he's a boy... but I may be wrong.. maybe it's a girl!
Can't wait!

Celebrating my daughter's 4th birthday!

Yesterday was my daughter's 4th birthday!!

She was hyper excited about it. I mark the date in the calendar and every day for a month she marked the days until June 3rd. It was the first time that she was going to celebrate it at school, with a very special ceremony in which my husband and I were invited to share pics and tales from the moment she was born until her 4th birthday, while her classmates sang a song about how the earth goes full circle around the sun while she carried a earth globe and walked around a candle that represented the sun. Then they gave her "gifts from the heart". She received several hugs and "I love yous" and then we all sang happy birthday and she blow the candles. I loved the ceremony. I wish I had had one like that when I was a child and I'm very thankful my daughter gets to experience it.

As her gift, I painted a big mermaid carrying a cake with 4 candles (She's a lot into mermaids right now) and she loved it. She even told me before bedtime "Thank you mom I loved everything" :D I'm a proud mom!

Thanks so much for the good wishes and congratulations you sent via Facebook! She says thank you and I do too! I love you my little girl!
