Danita Art at Artful Blogging Winter Edition 2011

When I discovered the wonderful world of Blogging back in 2006 and I was shocked. I couldn't believe there was so many people out there with whom I could relate and who had the same tastes and interests that I did (and still do!).   I decided to start writing my own in April 9th, 2007.  It's been a while since that first post and I've been gone through a lot of stuff since that day.

My blog is personal. It's the place when I share with the world what I do, what I like and what I've been through.  I like to show the world the work that I make and the things that I enjoy.

And today I received my copy of this Winter's Artful Blogging issue, and I'm there!  Now even more people will know about my blog and hopefully will join me in this adventure.

Thank you Somerset, and thank YOU for being my reader and my companion in this journey.

And as a token of gratitude, my gift to you:
This week, mention that you saw the offer in my blog in the comments to the seller at checkout and let me know your choice of free print.

It's all about Frida!

I've been obsessively working with just one theme in mind:
Frida Kahlo.  With the Day of the Dead approaching it's the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Mexico and its calaveritas (well, besides day of the dead sugar bread, but that's another story).

Want to know what I've been up to? Take a look:

And watercolor ACEOS...

Wow! No wonder why my back hurts!
But it was so worth it!

Somerset Holidays and Celebrations

After a few rough nights with my sick baby (he got the flu... I think it's the season) he's thankfully getting better and I got great news in the mail: My issue of Somerset Holidays and Celebrations 2011... and my work is there!

For this issue I participated with some collages for the "Through the year" Section. I think every special day deserves a special piece of art, so I made some pieces specially for the magazine celebrating other special days (not the usual Valentine's, Christmas or Halloween).

I'm very happy with the article and the pictures are beautiful.  If you want to read it don't miss this issue. You can get it directly through their site or at your local bookstore. It's a beautiful issue full of ideas, don't miss it!
