Many changes are coming...

Valentine kids. Available today on my shop.

Today was different. After spending most of my days inside home alone with my daughter and my baby in this cold winter, desperately waiting for my husband to arrive home so I could get some help and unwind a little I decided to get out of the house and get some errands done and get some fresh air. I went to the bank and the grocery store, with my 2 kids. For the ones who are used to this or have more than one kid it may seem like nothing, but for me it was a great deal. It was my very first time. And I did it! It was awesome! I felt empowered and independent!

I still remember when I didn't had any kids and I saw women with children and thought how can they do it? How am I going to do it!? And look at my, with no only one but TWO! I've learned to multitask (I'm on the web while feeding my little one and playing with my older one) and also I've learned to survive with little food and sleep. I know this won't be permanent (anything is), so I'll enjoy it instead of suffer it. The long hours with my baby in my chest peacefully sleeping while my daughter plays next to me are invaluable and will be treasure forever but I also need my me time. I thought this was egotistical at first but now I realize that in order to be there for them I need to be there for me too.

I managed to create some original pieces and I'm thinking more about what I'm doing with the little time that I have left. I'm thinking this year I'll focus more on working efficiently instead of working a lot. And I'm planning also to make some changes around here, you'll start noticing them soon and I'd love to hear what you think about them, starting with the blog layout. Do you hate it or love it? Please share your thoughts with me.

Have a great weekend!

Danita, enjoy your children for they are babies, This time won't come again, when they grow up baby time will disappear. And you are right, save some time only for you and the time with your babies will be more precious!

I love the new look of your blog, kisses

Your blog looks great! I am the mom of three kids, 6, 4 and 2 and like you...craft and creating during the off hours. It is difficult and challenging but I wouldn't do it any other way. It is hard to find a balance between kids and work but it can be done. Enjoy your little children for all of that noise and chaos will be gone some day. Good luck!

Yay! I know how huge taking two out at the same time can be! I am over that fear for the most part but I once took both my kids (4 & 2) out to eat, now that was my Mt. Everest. But we did it and things went great! We are expecting #3 at the end of Feb. and I already told my hubby I am never leaving the house with all the kids without him *smile*
Danita! This is beautiful! Love the colors, too. I can't wait to see all of your Valentines, too! You are doing wonderfully, with you and with your two babies! I adore you! ~Kathy
I love your new banner! Its design reminds me of the things you taught us at crescendoh. Way to go!
Love,
Helena

My dear Friend,
I love your blog and follow you for some time. Your work is wonderful!
You were a very talented person ... I am a teacher and have a baby and I know how hard it is to share the child care and work! Sorry the text, but as I do not speak English ...
I will always follow the news in your work and your life.
kisses from BRasil!
Danita,
I love the new blog layout and can't wait to see the changes in your creations. I absolutely adore your art, especially your colorful Fridas.
Congratulations on balancing mamahood and art!
Hugs,

Hi Danita,

I hope that you keep the simplicity and innocence of your art. That is what I've always liked about your art . . . and I know it is not easy to paint the style you do as many people have tried including me.

Best wishes to you and yours for continued success in everything you do!

Much peace and love,
Pamela Carvajal Drapala
I had the same fear as you, I have a 2.5yr old & 7mth old. Even sometimes it freaks me out still, especially when I have run errands like the post office, bank, groceries as my toddler starts getting restless & the behaviour is unpredictable. Or my baby starts crying, you never know. However like you I do & it is a great feeling when you know its just temporary. Enjoy your babies. Your blog change looks great.

G'day Danita, Your new blog looks great. It's so fresh and streamlined. Wonderful job.
I have 3 children who are 4,5 and almost 7. When the last one was born I had 3 under 3. So I can definitely relate to what you are saying. The best advice I ever received was 'do what works for you'. I think BALANCE is the key. If you don't want to be run down you need to look after yourself and make sure you get your 'ME' time.
I honestly believe that a happier Mum leads to a happier household.
Now I'm off to check out your facebook page and Etsy site.
