AAAAAHHHHH!!! The Horror!!!!

What a week..... Yesterday I picked up my daughter from Ballet class and she's usually very talkative. Yesterday was awfully quiet and did not say a thing. When I asked what she did at school, she told me she'd not rather talk about it, because if she told me what she did, she would have to tell me that she cut her hair and that I would not be very happy about it and she did not want to upset me....

I drive home not knowing what to expect.... I undid her ponytail and I was terrified when I see this:

What in the world?!?!?! It turns out that they wanted to look prettier and one of them cut her bangs or something and my daughter wanted to give herself an extreme makeover!!!! I was so shocked when I started pulling all the hair she cut and made a BIG chunk of hair... Look!

I really had to get creative while styling her hair today... Don't know how am I going to fix this.
Got any ideas?????

OMG!!! I think a short pixie cut is in order with some choppy longer layers!!!

My 6 year old daughter is stood next to me with her hand over her mouth and her eyes wide open, going OMG!!!! it's her worst nightmare, she hates having her hair cut!!

I hope you manage to sort something out for her, you must have been super shocked!!

Girls eh?

My daughter did the same thing a couple of years ago. She cut all her bangs to about 1/2 inch and then tried to cut her entire braid off. I can laugh about it now, but when it happened I was horrified. We bought a couple of hats to make me feel better. It never really bothered her. She thought she did a good job with the cut ;)

Perhaps a collection of fun hats for a while? Or some really big barrettes with a flower glued to them to cover?

Still trying to grow out a section where my son cut his hair off. I was more self conscious about it than he was... I wouldn't worry about covering it..most people when they see that will chuckle a little in a knowing way..it's one of those rights of passage of childhood.
I'd take the hair and make a wig out of it for a little doll of your daughter, cutting her own hair :)

When I was little I decided to cut my own bangs, and they ended up probably less than an inch long! My poor mother was horrified but I was so proud of myself :) My uncle is a hairstylist and he fixed what he could, the rest just had to grow out. There are some pretty funny pictures from that time. Maybe take her to a hairstylist and see what they can do to help hide it? Hugs to you and good luck! :) ~Lauren

A big flower head band or big bow! :-)
Ah yes, the horror! I am sorry for you as Mom, danita! (I do have a funny story to tell you though. Maybe it will cheer you up for even just one minute: When I was about your daughter's age, I did a headstand on silly putty. I couldn't get it out of my hair, at the top of my head, so I took scissors to it...then finally told my mom. She had to cut even more off because it wouldn't wash out either...When it grew back, it stood straight up!) Good luck! ♥ Kathy

OMG! Poor girl. :( Im pretty sure the hair is going to grow back in no time. But it's so creative and adorable of her that she wanted a makeover. My little newphew did the same thing to his hair..but my sister was more self conscious about it than he was. hehe Have a lovely merry happy weekend and love to you!

I think this happens to just about every parent. It happened to all 3 of my daughters a couple of times.Trim her hair short all over and before you know it the shortest hair will match up with the rest.

Doesn't look to be enough hair to hold a barette.

If she likes it long, can you just keep drawing it all up in a pony tail where the missing hair would be hidden?

If it's any consolation, I was just at a church picnic last night, and saw a little girl with the prettiest long hair... My memories of her are from when she was younger and decided to give herself a haircut... It was so chopped up for a while. But now.... it's gorgeous!

And yes... this will someday be one of the funny memories the two of you crack up over. Keep the hair in a memory box for her!!!

i say a super short (but cute) pixie cut. followed up by a hug and a kiss, and a kind request to never do it again!
*hair grows a half an inch a month, so in a month no scalp will show...
OMG!!! I'm speechless!!!

Thank you for the support! I was really shocked and all I wanted to do was scram and cry (I did neither of them) but now I'm starting to laugh about it. Both my husband and me did the same thing (and by my mother's report, I did it more than 5 times)... after all, it's just hair and will grow back :)

Oh Danita, I feel for you....but I think most kids do this...I remember my son decided to do it the DAY before picture day, right in the stinkin' front, ugh..... the good thing is, it will grow, and some day you will look back and laugh about it!

xo xo, rena
OMG I have to laugh but I can only imagine this can be very funny now that it has to grow back...I remember cutting the hair of my brothers not very good !
