The little prince and the fox
One of my favorite books from all times is The Little Prince. I find it full of wisdom for life and has helped me in countless occasions to remember what's more important in life. The part I like the most is when the Little Prince and the fox meet, and the later explains what tame is:
"to me, you are still nothing more than
a little boy who is just like
a hundred thousand other little boys.
And I have no need of you.
And you, on your part, have no need of me.
To you I am nothing more
than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes.
But if you tame me, then we shall need each other.
To me, you will be unique in all the world.
To you, I shall be unique in all the world. . ."
I find this to be very true. I was looking at my husband and my daughter playing with our dogs in the park and I was thinking the exact same thing. There are lots of men, lots of children and lots of dogs in the world, but to me, they are unique.
I made this doll inspired by that part of the book, but I made her woman because I am ;)
Maybe someday I'll make the little prince as well. (Available for sale on Danita's Etsy Shop)
