Daydreaming and new work...

I saw this storefront yesterday and couldn't help but dream.  It is empty and the front is wood and it looks old and weathered.  I imagine myself painting there, and taking coffee breaks outside... teaching classes and with a little shop inside with all kinds of beautiful things... a girl can dream, right?  Maybe one day...

Seeing that, I started with the urge to paint larger, with bolder ideas and enjoying the process even more, without caring about anything and just unleashing my creative me on the canvas without any regard to the consequences, feeling like I had to paint for me and only me, starting a journey to new creative lands, so I did. These new paintings will seem different than what I usually make, but I see this as an evolution in my quest to find new ways to create. I invite you to enjoy them and love the freedom I felt when I created them... I wanted to release them today on February 29th because it's a special day that only comes every four years, an extra day to paint and create and enjoy as gift to let my spirit free.

Following those feelings I had that that I should paint bigger, that I should take more risks with my paintings, that I should enjoy the process more (besides I can't take off my mind the song "somewhere over the rainbow") I created this wonderful Mixed Media Painting, I think it is a good result of following my feelings. What do you think?

I love those movies where you watch a lot of interlocked stories, with no central character.  I like to sit and watch people, what they do, what they may be thinking, what's their story.  I can only imagine the quantity of stories a city has.  And I think many of their inhabitants are angels. Angels taking care of the rest of us.

When I started this piece I added first the textured flowers in a random manner... and then I look at the canvas and I saw her, peeking from behind in a garden full of roses.  She said paint me and I did, and she fit perfectly there... almost like I had planned.  But I didn't...

Dream away!! What a great shop front. I have a similar dream, perhaps shared with several other artists, to make a great Co op of art and creativity. Perhaps with a tea shop too!

Dream and one day you can make it happen. Love the new larger work - very expressive.

Love the shop! Great dream! It would be so fun to have art workshops for children to enjoy :)My son used to go to an art workshop that charged a monthly fee, which wasn't expensive since he got 5 different lessons each month, one lesson per week when he was 5 and 6 years old...he loved it! He still does art to this day :)
Very pretty paintings!!!
